Agip Subsidiary SAIPEM Selects ISOPur Fluid Technologies' Breakthrough Oil Purification Systems
ISOPur Units To Support SAIPEM's Offshore Oil Platforms in Africa
Rocky Hill, CT ISOPur Fluid Technologies, Inc. based in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, announced that it has received orders for its high technology oil purification units from Agip subsidiary SAIPEM. The orders were placed through ISOPur's exclusive distributor in Italy, SAICA s.r.l., based in Rome. The ISOPur units will provide high technology oil purification to support SAIPEM's offshore oil platforms in Africa. Agip is a major international oil refiner and distributor and its subsidiary SAIPEM is a world leader in on and offshore construction of oil refineries, pipelines and platforms.
ISOPur's patented industrial fluid purification systems feature a new technology known as Balanced Charge Agglomeration TM (BCA). This technology purifies hydraulic and lubricating oil to the sub-micron level, an order of magnitude improvement over conventional filtration systems. By purifying down to the sub-micron level, BCA eliminates the adhesive or hard particles which create varnish and sludge and cause sticky valves, grinding bearings, and leaking seals. This in turn protects mission-critical industrial equipment, reducing plant downtime and maintenance costs.
ISOPur systems are ideal for oil, gas and petrochemical equipment, steam and gas turbines, compressors, hydraulic systems and industrial and manufacturing equipment that require workhorse lubricants such as lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, diesel fuel and cooking oils known as non-conducting fluids. These fluids enable moving parts of machinery to operate smoothly and efficiently. As the lubricants become dirty and contaminated, they require replacement and disposal. Even the most expensive filtration systems on the market today are only able to extend the useful life of these fluids for a limited period of time. ISOPur's BCA technology is able to keep these fluids like new, year after year, without replacement.
"We are delighted that Agip's subsidiary SAIPEM is implementing ISOPur's breakthrough technology for its offshore oil platforms in Africa," said James Isaacs, Vice President International for ISOPur Fluid Technologies Inc. and President of ISOPur Fluid Technologies Europe, s.r.l. "Offshore oil platforms operate in contaminant rich, remote environments, making equipment repair and maintenance a costly, complex issue. ISOPur's technology helps offshore operators such as Agip dramatically lower their equipment operating, maintenance and replacement costs while also protecting the environment by reducing oil disposal."
A wide range of industrial and power generation companies in Europe, North America, and Asia are already using ISOPur's BCA technology. ISOPur customers include equipment manufacturers such as Ansaldo, Atlas Copco and Eaton Corporation; power companies such as Enel, one of Europe's largest power producers; a number of food producers including Refined Sugar and Sanwa Shoko; as well as various institutions and municipalities.
Customer testimonials and lab testing confirm that ISOPur's BCA process, which uses carefully balanced electrical charges to separate contaminants from oils and fuels, is capable of purifying lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, diesel fuel and cooking oils to a much higher level of purity than conventional filtration alternatives, many of which are still using the more than half a century old 'coffee filter method' of mechanical filtering. ISOPur systems transform lubricating oil into a capital asset that can be used again and again without replacement rather than a commodity and a liability to use and dispose of.
"ISOPur's BCA technology catapults filtration technology to an unheard of level in terms of efficiency, environmental benefits, cost savings, reduced maintenance, enhanced equipment uptime, and expansive residual benefits," said Gerald L. (Gerry) Munson, Chief Technology Officer for ISOPur Fluid Technologies. "The BCA process actually 'pulls' small particles of dirt and contamination from inside the machinery, enabling offshore oil platform equipment to operate more efficiently and reliably. This significantly reduces maintenance and repair costs and equipment downtime and extends the service life of the equipment."
